Cat's Cradle Interpretation

Call me Rhoades. Most people do. My real names actually John, but I never liked it. Anyway, Rhoades fits me better. I always liked Rhoades, not because of the way it sounds, but because it just fits me better. I know how that sounds but its true.
Anyway back to the point. Up until three days ago I was Catholic. I had always been Catholic. I would have kept on being Catholic if I hadn't found out about Roechism. Now I'm a Roechist, not because i believe everything it says. It just fits me better.
Roechism centers around what is called Scruma, which means subtle beauty. A devout Roechist can find beauty in anything. That's how I became a Roechist. I found subtle beauty.

  1. 1)I like your version of Kurt's writing. It seems very casual and makes the reading more interesting.

2)I am left wondering about what Roechism is and how Rhoades became and Roechist.

3)The unique vocabulary seems to play a key role in the writing and has made the basis for an interesting story.

  2. I like the way you mimic Vonnegut's writing by using the phrase "it fits me well" and the last paragraph in which you repeat things a little is exactly like Vonnegut. I really want to know what the subtle beauty is that you found.Roechism and the subtle beauty are the most intriguing parts of the story, and could be developed very easily.

  3. I love the repetition and simplicity with your sentence structure compared to the big ideas that you handle in such a casual manner, which echos a lot of Kurt Vonnegut's writing. I'm interested to see what "subtle beauty" is and if there's a connection between your chosen name and the name of your newfound religion. The only thing I think doesn't really reflect Vonnegut's style is the "Anyway, back to the point." because it breaks up the flow instead of letting your story meander.
